Business is a process

All businesses are a process, irrespective of the industry or product and service. This is true for all businesses, from manufacturing through to service industries, banking medical services, architects or consultants. To be competitive in the modern day, process, technology (systems) and people need to be integrated into a cohesive and transparent organization.

Our philosophy is based in the following basic premises:

  1. If you cannot express your business as a process, you do not know what you are doing.

This means being able to understand and express your business in process terms.

  1. You cannot manage or control what you cannot see, without process observability you are running blind. Transparency of business process is vital throughout the organization.

This means your company needs good information management systems which are matched and integrated with your business processes. Systems need to be readily accessible by staff.

  1. Business is about people; it is executed by people.

This means well trained staff in the business processes and operational systems which are deployed. This requires flexible teamwork.

The only way to create a great, enduring, efficient and effective business is to be process focused and centric with an underlying fundamental theme of continuous improvement. This best practice is an amalgamation of concepts and technologies relating to business process design, management and execution into an integrated approach which makes sense to us at DMS.

DMS has taken the basic concepts and ideas around Business Process Management (BPM), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and systems engineering and extended the meaning and application of techniques involved in developing, implementing and maintaining a company’s business process or QMS design. 

Our object is therefore to provide a holistic and all-encompassing approach to business design and its execution, including its management systems. This is the essence of DMS’s “Q-SMART QMS” methodology with a comprehensive approach to continuous improvement which we promote to our customers.

Although having a strong, process driven approach we combine people and technology into the design mix, as process, people and technology which make your business tick.

Q-Smart Objectives

DMS’s Q-Smart suite of applications has two major goals, these being:

  1. Provide an electroni Quality Management System (QMS) environment within which a company can define its business processes, policies, procedures and work instructions which are accessible to all staff with high degree of transparency across the organizaiton.
  2. Provide a suite of business operational managment modules designed to provide door to door management capability. This provides real-time operational data to its users.
